If you want to learn on your own, I would strongly recommend joining the AGDG (Ametur Game Development General) community. One of the devs of Future Fragments is there so its open to H devs, and I find its pretty nice to be able to just drop into a group of devs to run a thought or two by them now and then. They have a discord open to all as well as a thread on /vg/ (in which you can find the discord link).
