Q:Could you recommend any good tutorials for learning SFM? The official Valve one was abandoned abruptly and I don't know where to look now.

The official Valve ones should be enough to have taught you how to use the software. The rest is all up to you now. I recommend reading up on Disney’s Principles of Animation. That’s how I got started.
